As a self-proclaimed foodie, I am always interested in wedding food trends…no more chicken, green beans and potatoes…brides and grooms have a more sophisticated palette these days. Here are a few of my favorite inspirations from Knot.com along with my unique spin.

Seasonal Fresh Berries would make a delicious dessert!

Seasonal Ingredients Take Center Stage!  Think fresh berries for summer, beautiful lettuce and herbs in Spring and hearty sweet potato or pumpkin soup for Fall.

Rustic Is In!  Fresh lemonade or cocktails in mason jars, homemade pies, S’mores…all displayed on long wood tables…perfect for an outdoor or barn reception.

Cocktails in mason jars...yes please! Thanks to theknot.com for this fun idea!

It’s a Gatsby Kind of Year!  Think vintage drinks-sidecars, manhattans or champagne cocktails. You can work with your event planner to create a “speakeasy” theme for your guests.

A Taste of Home!  More and more of my couples meet at college and are from different cities. How fun would it be to introduce your guests to your own hometown favorites!  Are you from the East Coast?  Include a special touch during your appetizer course…lobster roll, clam chowder…yum!  Are you from the South?  Cobbler, fried green tomatoes or even fried chicken would be a welcome treat for your guests. And we cannot forget the midwest!  There is nothing more comforting in the winter than grilled cheese and tomato soup!

The perfect comfort food for a midwest wedding...grilled cheese and tomato soup!
