We love this Spring bouquet from The Elegant Petal in our favorite color- purple of course!
Well it finally feels like Spring is arriving here in Chicago! What a long winter it has been and here at Something 2 Dance 2 we are so looking forward to our Spring Weddings!
Now we can’t talk about Spring weddings without including some beautiful blooms! I spoke with my friend and florist extraordinaire Casey Murdough from The Elegant Petal about a recent spring wedding she designed at Hotel Arista in Naperville:
We paired our bride Lauren’s purple palette with aqua and pewter at Hotel Arista, which was ideal for that space. We also chose to incorporate sweet-scented hyacinths everywhere, perfect for creating those wedding-day fragrance-memories! I always love to include something like that, particularly in the spring, because scent memory, as we all know, lasts a looooong time, and gives brides an instant happy memory whenever they catch a whiff of that fragrance in the future. Other nice springtime specialties with that effect? Lilacs, sweet peas, peonies, cyclamen, grape hyacinth and, (as you also see in her bouquet) French Lavender.
Spring is my ABSOLUTE favorite time of the year, and because in the floral industry, the season starts on Jan 1, I’m fortunate that I get to enjoy a nice long season of tulips, ranunculus, anemones, flowering branches and lilacs, no matter what our local weather is doing!

What better way to celebrate, than a sparkling cocktail! This Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade is a great drink to toast with instead of the standard champagne…the color is perfect for Spring.
And what better way to evoke the feeling of Spring, than centerpieces of beautiful bunches of tulips in every color!
And we cannot forget something sweet. I love this Spring Wedding Cake..lovely, simple and beautiful with just a touch of bling.
