We at Something 2 Dance 2 have had the pleasure of working with Sara Boal, Banquet Sales Manager at Maggiano’s Schaumburg, throughout her career in the wedding industry. And being one of my favorite restaurants, I wanted to remind my readers that Maggiano’s also does an amazing wedding and special event business featuring the most delicious Italian food that you would expect. I had the opportunity to sit down with Sara and learn more about her and what Maggiano’s has to offer.
Tell me about yourself and your experience in the wedding industry: I have been in the event planning industry for 12 years now, my career background started within the hotel industry working for a Hilton brand hotel as a catering manager, then I spent some time within the Marriott chain at a Renaissance as their Director of Catering, and now this year I have taken a new yet familiar route with joining the Maggiano’s team in Schaumburg! Event planning is a very rewarding job to me, especially my weddings. It’s a great feeling to know you had a part in creating a couple’s special day!
Tell me more about your new position at Maggiano’s Schaumburg: I joined their team in January & have been loving it! I am a banquet sales manager on a team of 3. It’s a high volume venue. I jumped into the team and we’ve kept up the momentum ever since!
What type of event makes up the most of your business? The social market is HUGE! From extravagant mitzvahs, elegant wedding receptions, fun birthday parties, memorable showers, and many other special events!
What other services can Maggiano’s offer? Many people don’t know about how much space is on the 2nd floor of Maggiano’s Schaumburg. We have 6 different individual rooms, plus our main ballroom. And if we can’t accommodate your event in our private banquet space; Maggiano’s can come to you! We offer our delivery and carry out services as well for any type of party!
What are some summer wedding trends you are seeing this season? Lots of bright colors, and at Maggiano’s our homemade sangria! It’s a hit at every event! We can also create a special signature cocktail for your event too!
Oh I love that idea! A signature cocktail can really personalize the day for the bride & groom!
I Have a huge sweet tooth so I have to ask what your favorite dessert is from Maggiano’s? Hands down the Nonna’s toasted pound cake, it’s served with caramelized bananas,vanilla bean ice cream, and homemade hot fudge! Mmmmmm…
