With Jay and I both enjoying running, (Jay has completed 8 Marathons and will participate in the Ironman Wisconsin Race on September 12, in Madison), we came across a fun article in Runners World about Brides & Grooms tying the knot on, you guessed it, a Marathon course! Talk about running for your life, at a recent Marathon in Las Vegas, 86 couples exchanged vows mid-race. We even found a Minister in Fort Worth, Texas who is also a Marathoner and has conducted 8 weddings on race courses…her website is www.runningreverend.org. And don’t worry if you don’t have a thing to wear, women’s apparel designer Oiselle has a new Fall line called “Runaway Bride,” that includes a sweat-wicking, chafe-proof wedding dress that owner Sally Bergesen calls “couture for runners.” Now all you need to become the next “runaway bride” is the Groom and the Gatorade…and maybe a small piece of cake at the end of the race!
