Monochromatic Blue Color Palette with Blue Uplighting and Crystal Blue Backdrop

Happy New Year!  And congratulations to those of you who became engaged during the holiday season!  A new year means new wedding trends so I thought I would share a few of our favorites for 2014.

Everything old is new again!  Vintage will remain a top style choice for 2014, but it will be a bit more refined. Think Roaring Twenties, Great Gatsby inspired and 1950’s glamour.

Monochromatic Colors are Hot this year!  Especially with Pantone’s announcement of Radiant Orchid as the color of the year.  Various hues of purples, pinks, greys and blues will be popular in dresses, flowers, linens and decor.

Food Glorious Food! With Top Chef, Iron Chef and The Taste, food has become more popular than ever before.  Celebrity Chefs are now household names, and brides and grooms will be looking to create unique menus for their guests to enjoy.  No more chicken, green beans and twice baked potato!  Carving Stations, Mashed Potato Bars, Soup Shooters and S’mores continue to be on trend in 2014.

Luxury Invites!  “Brides want to make a “splash” with a unique invitation that won’t break their budget,” says Kasey Larson, owner of DBY Invitations in Schaumburg.  Kasey and her team can create a luxurious boxed invitation, for the same price as a pocket invite.

I just love this boxed invitation from DBY Events in Schaumburg. Thank you Angela Swan for the photo.

Happy New Year, Happy Wedding Planning and don’t forget to reach out if you are in need of DJ Entertainment or Lighting and Decor for your big day!
